Most equipment manufacturers, Trane included, require annual professional maintenance to keep a system's warranty valid. Skip that visit and a covered compressor failure a few years in can turn into a bill the homeowner pays in full, warranty or not. A tune up is cheap next to that. It is also the difference between a system that holds its efficiency for years and one that quietly loses a percentage of its SEER rating every season nobody looks at the coils.

Our four part maintenance process
System calibration
Thermostat settings, refrigerant charge and controls are checked against the system's own specification, not a generic default.
Outdoor coil cleaning
The condenser coils get cleaned so the air handler is not fighting to move air through a coil that grass clippings and Houston pollen have half blocked.
Electrical safety checks
Wiring, connections and the contactor get inspected. A loose connection at a capacitor or contactor is one of the more common causes of a mid summer no cool call.
Performance testing
Airflow and SEER efficiency get tested against what the system is actually rated for, so a slow decline in performance gets caught while it is still a tune up and not a repair call.
One visit a year, priced for a new customer
New customers get the full tune up for a flat $89, one time. It is the same visit whether the system is a Trane we installed or something a different contractor put in years ago, because the coils, the wiring and the airflow do not care who sold the unit.
If a tune up turns up something more serious, AC repair covers how we diagnose and price a fix. If the honest answer is that the system has reached the end of what maintenance can do, AC installation covers sizing, SEER and our published pricing.
