Residential Cooling

AC Installation

A load calculation first, a Trane system sized to what the house actually needs second. Not the other way around.

Sized for the house, not the driveway

A unit that is too big for the house it is cooling short cycles. It shuts off before it has run long enough to actually pull humidity out of the air, so the house feels clammy even at the temperature the thermostat says it should be. A unit that is too small runs almost constantly and still cannot keep up on the hottest days, which wears it out faster and shows up on every power bill in between. Correct sizing comes from a real load calculation, the square footage, insulation, window exposure and ductwork of the specific house, not a rule of thumb applied from the truck.

What SEER actually tells you

SEER is a measure of cooling output over a season divided by the energy it takes to produce it, so a higher number means more cooling for the same electricity, not a faster or more powerful system. We install Trane at every efficiency tier so the choice comes down to how long the house will be owned and how the upfront cost weighs against the monthly bill, not which number sounds the most impressive.

Optimal Air is a certified Trane Comfort Specialist of over ten years, and every installation carries our 100 percent satisfaction guarantee. Call (832) 779-1008.

What is inside a Trane system

  • TruComfort variable speed compressors adjust output in increments as small as one tenth of one percent, instead of switching bluntly between on and off.
  • Hyperion air handlers use an insulated, refrigerator styled cabinet that virtually eliminates the condensation and operating noise older cabinets are known for.
  • Ductwork gets integrated and, where it is fabricated in house, built to the actual run rather than assembled from stock pieces that do not quite fit the attic.
  • The thermostat gets calibrated to the new equipment as part of the install, not left running the settings from whatever was there before.

Financing runs through Wells Fargo Bank, N.A., subject to credit approval, with 0% APR over 24, 36, 48 or 60 equal monthly payments, and select complete systems can save up to $2,500.

Building new rather than replacing an existing system? New construction HVAC covers design from the rough in phase through commissioning. Not ready for a full system yet? AC maintenance keeps the current one running longer.
